Plans progress for 200 new homes

27th January 2017

Andium Homes is delighted that plans to deliver a development of 200 new affordable homes on the Samares Nursery site in St Clement are to be considered by the Planning Applications Committee at its meeting on 23rd March.

The site was re-zoned for affordable homes in 2014 and the developer, GR Langlois, submitted plans for a mixed development of 1 and 2 bedroom low rise apartments and 3 bedroom houses at the end of last year.
Andium Homes will purchase all 200 homes,  40 of which will be sold on to First Time Buyers through the Andium Homebuy scheme, enabling those who qualify through Band 5 of the Affordable Housing Gateway to purchase a new three bedroom house for between £300,000 and £325,000.
The development is low density and will provide a generous amount of amenity space. It has good access to local schools as well as the existing public transport network. A landscaped linear park and an extensive network of cycle and walking paths will also be created on the site, linking it to surrounding areas.

If plans are approved it is anticipated that work can commence on site in the spring, with the building programme taking approximately two years to complete.

Ian Gallichan, Chief Executive of Andium Homes said; “These 200 homes will make a significant contribution to the number of quality affordable homes available to islanders both to rent and buy. I encourage anyone wishing to register an interest in purchasing one of these homes to contact our Sales and Marketing Team on 500719 or email us at samares@andiumhomes.je
