Kitchen and Bathroom Replacement Program

24th October 2016

In the coming 5 years Andium Homes will be installing some 2,468 kitchens and 2,236 bathrooms as part of its commitment to the Decent Homes Standard and new build programme. We are delighted to announce that through competitive tender new 5 year contracts have secured better value for money and new opportunities for our clients.
We involved a sub-committee from our Tenants Forum, RADAR, which has been actively involved with the procurement process. RADAR were also represented at the contractor interviews and were solely responsible for choosing the final kitchen finish, using feedback from a wider group of clients following a Facebook vote.
Pat Cameron, Chair of RADAR, said “Representatives of RADAR are pleased to have been involved in this successful procurement. Working in partnership with Andium, we’ve helped secure modern and high specification kitchens and bathrooms. Being able to select a variety of tiles, handles, flooring and worktops will help fellow residents personalise their new kitchens”.
The successful bids were as follows:-

  • Kitchen Unit Supply Service Level Agreement –               Norman Ltd
  • Bathroom Fittings Supply Service Level Agreement –       Plumb Centre/Wolseley
  • Package A: Kitchen & Bathroom Installation Contract –    Calton Ltd
  • Package B: Kitchen & Bathroom Installation Contract –    JMEC Ltd
Stephen Lilley, Head of Property Maintenance for Andium Homes, said “the new contracts have secured real value for money through the economies of scale, enhanced product specification and wider client choice”.
