High Rise Fire Safety

The safety of our tenants is paramount and in light of the tragic events in London recently, where a high rise building was devastated by fire, we want to move to reassure our residents that their homes are safe.

We have carried out visits to all of our high-rise buildings and appointed specialists to undertake risk assessments periodically. Further to this we have commenced our programme of installing sprinkler systems to all our high-rises, starting at Plaisant Court (Previously Convent Court). This programme aims to install sprinklers to every Andium Homes high-rise in the next few years.

Further to this we are also monitoring the findings from the Grenfell enquiry to ensure we are continually improving the safety of our Clients.

Should anyone not have yet been visited and still have any concerns at all about the safety of their home, please contact our Client Services Team to arrange a visit. You can do this even if you are not living in what is considered to be a high rise building but you still have safety concerns. Here is a list of questions that we have already been asked along with our answers, and this list will be updated as further questions are put to us.

You will also find links below to two helpful leaflets, one specifically for high rise buildings and one more general fire safety guidance. The below guides were created and supplied by the States of Jersey Fire.

British Automatic Fire Sprinkler Association (BAFSA) has published a booklet : Fire sprinklers will protect my family and things we love
which endeavours to introduce automatic fire sprinklers to the people who have been left feeling most vulnerable following the Grenfell Tower fire.

We hope that this basic approach to sprinklers, set off by original and colourful illustrations, will assist Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Fire & Rescue Services and anyone who reaches out to the general public regarding fire protection.
